Leyland Atlantean 209 - ORS 209R
The main stay of the Aberdeen fleet from the mid 1970's to the late 90's was the Alexander AL peak domed Atlanean.
Aberdeen Corporation bought its first Leyalnd Double Decker in 1967 when 10 Atlantean's were taken into stock.

In 1973, 24 more Atlantean's entered service. This bus became the standard of Aberdeen's double decker fleet.
Batches of these vehicles entered the fleet at regular intervals until the last one was delivered in 1982.

In total 169 identical Atlantean's had been required with this type of bus being a common sight on all routes throughout the city.

The majority of these buses lasted 30 years until coming out of service in 2002.

209 (ORS 209R) left Aberdeen for service with Midland Bluebird before returning to Aberdeen for independent preservation.
Identical 270 (owned by Ian Andrew - https://www.freewebs.com/grampian270) is also preserved.

After this, the bus was stored  until 2010 when it came to Alford.

Since then it spent Summer 2011 in Glasgow after a clean up on service 100 for the new Riverside Transport Museum shuttle.
