Leyland Leopard 61

 The Leyland Leopard was a popular choice for 20 years with all scottish operatores either on straight town and city services or more long distance journeys.

In Aberdeen, the Leopards had a significate role in mainly replacing its three AEC Reliance city tour buuses.

61 was the first new bus to be purchased under the renamed Grampian Regional Transport.

This bus was followed in 1977 by numbers 60 and 86.

No. 86 was fitted with a high ratio differential for the Aberdeen - Glasgow CityLink relief workings.

61 was transferred to the Mains Cpaches division until 1999 when it was refurbished at First Aberdeen until its former Grampian livery.

No. 60 is preserved in private ownership and No.86 is unkown.

Leyland Tiger Club 10.

Aberdeen Corporation Transport was to spearhead the introduction of one man operation in 1966.

Six buses Nos.1-6 entered service in 1966 with a further 6 Nos. 7-12 in 1967.

This bus has an Alexander Y type body which was a popular choice by companies in Scotland.

These buses came out of service in 1979.

Nos. 8,10,11 and 12 found a new home with Peace's pf Kirkwall with nos.11 and 12 continuing to Shetland to operate on service 12. Both of these are now scrapped.

Nos. 8 (now scrapped) and 10 stayed at Orkney until no 10 moved to Stoves of Deerness in 1982 when it moved back to Abredeen in April 1998.
