Grampian Regional Transport 55 Leyland Tiger (D55 VSO)

D761GSP (previously RJI2719, 781GRT and originally D55VSO)

Chassis:  Leyland Tiger TRCLXC/RH

Body:  Plaxton Paramount (II) 3200 Express C53F

Delivered new to Grampian Regional Transport Ltd. as fleet no. 55  in August 1986 just prior to de-regulation of the bus industry.

It was part of a batch of five vehicles, but differed in that it had 49 reclining seats and one or two other body variances.

The livery was green and cream with a white roof. The dark green skirt featured a fading effect from dark to light green and it carried “Grand Tourer” fleetnames on the sides, front and rear.

Later in its life it was transferred to subsidiary  Kirkpatrick of Deeside at Banchory and  finally passed  to Fishers Tours (Cosgrove) of Dundee from whom it has just been acquired.

The coach will initially be inspected by the Trust and a restoration plan developed. There are no immediate plans to run the vehicle or carry out major work.
